Figures released today show that just under 86,000 people were claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) in GM in April 2012 – lower than the figure for March 2012 of 87,000 and representing a monthly decline of 1.6%. On an annual basis, the overall number of JSA claimants has increased by 9,000 (11.8%) in Greater Manchester over the past year.
